Name: Westfield – Montfichet Road SPS
Client: Thames Water

Background:
Due to ongoing development of the Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre, the developer submitted a request under the Section 185 of the Water Industry Act (1991) for the relocation of the control panel kiosk for the existing Thames Water Montfichet Road Foul SPS. The scope of this project covered the design and construction of a new kiosk and control panel to meet the requirements of the developer whilst simultaneously bringing the SPS in line with current Thames Water Asset Standards. Additional scope was added to replace the existing submersible wet well pumps with similar new ones, and install a new bollard type ventilation column.
Our Role:
LJR Engineering worked on behalf of Thames Water in the role of Project Manager’s Representative (PMR). Using our wealth of experience and knowledge, we worked closely with the principal contractor to ensure successful completion of the project, on time, within budget and consistent with Thames Water Asset Standards. As well as providing design support and site supervision during the construction phase of the project, we produced and managed a comprehensive commissioning programme to verify that the performance of the new Foul SPS met the project requirements. LJR Engineering also managed the handover process on behalf of Thames Water, producing a Site Operating Manual and working with contractors to collate all handover documentation to facilitate a successful takeover from Thames Water Operations.
